After sharing a heartfelt thank you with the educator for raising awareness around gun violence in her community, Case presented her with a $10,000 donation to the school’s Tylik Allen Scholarship Fund, started in memory of its namesake, a Kipp Star student who lost his life to gun violence in 2017.
Jean and Steve Case created the Case Foundation in 1997 to reflect their family’s commitment to giving back. Over the years, they have used their investment capital, networks and experience in pursuit of a singular mission – to invest in people and ideas that can change the world.
Steve and Jean have signed the Giving Pledge, and have committed to giving most of their fortune to charity. ISSUES. ENTREPRENEURSHIP: In early 2020, the couple re-imagined the Case Foundation ’s role in their philanthropy. While it remains a grantmaking organization, the foundation no longer engages in impact investing and inclusive capitalism.
