Dec 5, 2020 · I was informed that Npower would be taken over by Eon in December. My tariff was due to change the month before, so rather than confuse things I thought I would let it roll until after the switch. When the switch did take place it was not to Eon, but to Eon next.

May 1, 2021 · To my surprise I’ve just found out they’ve transferred my electricity account (not gas) to Eon Next without my permission. Has anyone had any dealings with Eon Next? I’m seriously hoping they haven’t inherited the Npower customer service staff!
Npower was acquired by Eon UK at the beginning of 2019, following a failed merger with SSE. It is now in the process of being absorbed by Eon, and will eventually cease to operate under the Npower name.
