Dervla Kirwan (born 24 October 1971) is an Irish actress. She has received a number of accolades, including two IFTA Awards for her performances in the film Ondine (2009) and the RTÉ thriller series Smother (2021–2023) respectively.

Sep 16, 2021 · Dervla Kirwan played pub owner Assumpta Fitzgerald in the first three series of Ballykissangel. Kirwan left the show after her character sadly died at the end of the third series. Prior to Ballykissangel, fans would have recognised Kirwan from the BBC comedy Goodnight Sweetheart, alongside Only Fools and Horses' Nicholas Lyndhurst.
