Aug 22, 2019 · At Captain Moonlite, the restaurant inside Anglesea’s SLC, you’ll find all those things, but the potato cake is served on a plate, the fish and chips have a vodka-spiked batter, and the flip-flop of thongs is just as audible as the soft rattle of pearls.

The duo named its restaurant after notorious bushranger Andrew “Captain Moonlite” Scott. Before he was hanged in 1880, Scott broke out of jail in Ballarat, taking four other inmates with him. He was also said to be romantically involved with his gang’s second-in-command, James Nesbitt.
Had a very nice weekend lunch here with good views over the Anglesea beach. The entrees were excellent - a huge prawn and seaweed cracker, oyster and pita with dips. The fish and chips were good, chips tasty, fish perhaps a tad overcooked (batter was a little firm).
