Jun 23, 2024 · The English Championships came to an end on Sunday in Kenilworth. Both the open and the women’s sections were decided in rapid tiebreakers, with Gawain Jones beating Michael Adams in the open and Elmira Mirzoeva beating Katarzyna Toma in the women’s.
Feb 12, 2024 · The 2024 British Chess Championships will take place in Hull from Thursday 25th July to Sunday 4th August. This will be the 110th British Chess Championships in a series which has run almost unbroken since 1904 and a welcome return to Hull, which last hosted a full British in 2018.
The table below is the final leaderboard with British Championship qualification places as shown for the top 10 finishers plus ties who are eligible and not already qualified, together with the top female player plus ties eligible and not already qualified.

The Trust has generously supported the British since 2006 and in 2024 awarded the English Chess Federation £10,000 to facilitate the promotion and organising of the event and to provide junior coaching during the championship.
