Robert Renwick Mortimer (born 23 May 1959) is an English comedian, author, television presenter, writer and actor. He is best known for his work with Vic Reeves as part of their Vic and Bob double act, and more recently the Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing series with Paul Whitehouse.
Reeves and Mortimer, colloquially known as Vic and Bob, are a British double act consisting of Vic Reeves (born 24 January 1959; real name Jim Moir) and Bob Mortimer (born 23 May 1959). They have written and starred in several comedy programmes on British television since 1990, with Reeves having made his first TV appearance in 1986.
A self-styled 'top light entertainer', Reeves constructed whole evenings of sprawling character comedy, audience interaction and surreal experimentation. Imbued with drunken confidence, audience member Bob Mortimer (born Robert Renwick Mortimer, 23 May 1959) joined him on stage one night.

Bob says of that time: “I just remember coming back home, being ushered away by policemen, not knowing what was happening and then a couple of weeks later being told that my dad had died… and then crying and being very sad about it, then kind of forgetting about it really and thinking that it hadn’t affected me at all.
Vic and Bob starred in the remake of the classic '60s series Randall and Hopkirk.... Bob played Jeff Randall, a private detective in love with his assistant Jeannie.
