    • Make sure everyone is well fed, and rested. Feeling cheerful goes a long way in a photo shoot. Be sure that everyone is fed and rested before the shoot.
    • Plan Ahead. The most common piece of family photo shoot advice people ask about is wardrobe. I know it can feel overwhelming, and am happy to help! Plan your wardrobe before the day of your shoot, and make sure the necessary items are dry cleaned/ironed.
    • Snacks. Bring snacks that are quick and easy to eat. Snacks should be non-staining, and food that wont get stuck in your teeth. Good snacks: Jelly beans.
    • Plan in advance. One of the first things you should do when preparing for a family photo session is to plan ahead. Consider what you need the photos for, whether it's holiday cards, prints for your home, or gifts for loved ones.
    • Choose a suitable location. The location of your family photo session can greatly impact the overall feel and look of the photos. Consider whether you want a casual or formal look, as well as what season you prefer.
    • Plan outfits ahead. While you don't have to match exactly, in fact, please don't do this, however, it is important to coordinate outfits. This will create a cohesive and polished look in your family photos.
    • Don't stress about imperfections. Firstly, keep in mind that no family is perfect, and that's okay! The goal of family photos is to capture the love and connection shared between family members, not to create a perfect image.
