Storyline: British Cyprus in 1957. Young American archaeologist Juno Kozani (Strasberg) witnesses a deadly ambush of the EOKA, which is investigated by the local British Intelligence Major McGuire (Bogarde).
Critics reviews. Dirk Bogarde’s the British intelligence man whose efforts to stem Eoka guerilla activity are compromised when he falls for American-Cypriot gal Strasberg, an archeology student lodging at a villa where the chief guerilla is in hiding.
Strasberg, a dewy-eyed young American archeology student of Cypriot parentage, is visiting Cypriot friends who, unbeknown to her, are mixed up in the local terrorist racket.
Overview. This story of love and espionage focuses on political turmoil as a small nation struggles to free itself from colonial rule, and one man tries to serve both justice and his own heart. Ian Stuart Black.
