  1. We welcome you to Mass at Our Lady of Furness churches. LIVE STREAMING OF MASSES. Mass will be live streamed from Saint Mary’s at the following times: Weekdays (Monday – Friday) at 10:00am. Saturday at 11:00am. Saturday Vigil at 5:30pm.

  2. St Mary’s Catholic Church, Duke Street. St Mary’s Church in the Parish of Our Lady of Furness opened for worship on the 28 th August 1867. It was the first Catholic Church built in the Borough of Furness. The building is situated on Duke Street along with Ramsden Square and the Town Hall.

  3. The church is now part of Our Lady of Furness and has good attendances with a growing Children’s Liturgy Group of over 20 children, is well connected to Holy Family School and has a strong sense of community among parishioners.

  4. St Patrick’s Church. St Patrick’s began life as a chapel of ease sometime in the late 1870’s being served from St Mary’s. At that time Barrow was expanding rapidly and large population had grown up on Barrow Island. By 1885 a chapel and school had been built ( both now demolished).

  6. Sacred Heart Church. Sacred Heart Parish was formed in 1902, in the ‘boom town’ days of Barrow-in-Furness, to serve the needs of the rapidly expanding population in the Marsh, Risedale, and Newbarns districts of the growing industrial town.

  7. St Columba’s serves the Isle of Walney. Over the years much has been achieved. We have a splendid school. The church has changed a little: it was re-ordered in the 1990’s, a day chapel was built out of the sacristy and a “social area” is in place at the back of the church.
