May 20, 2019 · It’s basically a Western set in Argentina featuring Robert Taylor in one of his last roles. He died in 1969 at age 57 after appearing in just four more films. The story is both exploitive and implausible, but director Hugo Fregonese manages to turn it into an entertaining film.

May 14, 2022 · I was grateful for every second of SAVAGE PAMPAS, - which I found HUGELY entertaining. I hadn’t expected this, having read the checkered reviews and comments about the film. It’s visually stunning, and I thought the screenplay was excellent, as was Robert Taylor in the lead role.
Feb 23, 2022 · While the original Spanish film was a tightly composed black and white picture often focused on medium close-ups of the actors, in contrast the English language work is a Superpanorama 70mm widescreen production replete with 6-track sound, making this revisitation of the story of Savage Pampas a huge forward step in technological innovation.

Savage Pampas is a 1966 American Western film directed by Hugo Fregonese and starring Robert Taylor, Ron Randell and Marc Lawrence. [1] The film was a co-production between Argentina, Spain and the United States, and was a remake of the 1945 Argentine film of the same title which Fregonese had co-directed.
