Heorhiy began playing football in Odesa, where he attended Chornomorets Odesa football school. When he was fourteen, Bushchan moved to Kyiv, where he began playing for Dynamo Kyiv youth and reserve squads. He was a part of Dynamo's first team squad on and off from the 2011–12 season onwards.

Heorhiy Bushchan was born on May 31 1994 in Odesa. He might have become a swimmer, but football was always in the first place for him. As the majority of kids Bushchan wanted to be a striker, but as he was 11 his coach Vitaliy Hotsuliak asked him to play as center back. Heorhiy took offence at such decision and told that he would be a goalkeeper.
