I will have a gap of about 20cm above only 9cm at the back and a metre either side. Does anyone here know if that will be enough for safety purposes.

May 13, 2020 · You need to make sure you have enough clearance space between the top of the microwave and any cupboards, though (usually at least 10cm, although it can vary between models, so check before you buy). There is a lot of variation in size from one microwave to the next though, so make sure to take note of this to avoid your chosen model protruding too far onto your worktop.
