The twenty-seventh series of Top Gear was officially announced in early 2018 and began on the 16th of June 2019.
This series features a host revamp with Chris Harris being joined by sportsman Freddie Flintoff and comedian Paddy McGuinness. Sabine Schmitz also made regular appearances throughout the series. Harris however is the only presenter to do Power Laps on the test track as he is the most skilled driver out of the new trio.
Two trailers were released in 2019 showcasing many challenges such as a racing inspired Daimler Hearse, a road trip across Africa, as well as several new cars such as the McLaren 600LT and the Ferrari 488 Pista.
Harris was originally going to join Flintoff and McGuiness while filming in Borneo however could not attend the shoot due to the passing of his mother.
•When it was announced that Matt LeBlanc would be leaving the show, it was also revealed that Rory Reid would step down from the main show.
