   How long does it take to visit Wookey Hole?

   • We spent around four hours at Wookey Hole with a 6 and 10 year old. We started off at the caves of course, which were spectacular. The owners have then ensured that you do hit activity after activity as you make your way in afterwards. The caves took no more than half an hour (the guides are lovely and really want to talk to you about the caves).

   When was Wookey Hole occupied?

   • Wookey Hole was occupied by humans in the Iron Age, possibly around 250–300 BC, while nearby Hyena Cave was occupied by Stone Age hunters. Badger Hole and Rhinoceros Hole are two dry caves on the slopes above the Wookey ravine near the Wookey Hole resurgence and contain in situ cave sediments laid down during the Ice Age.
