Short answer is that my iPhone 6+ sounds ok with my HD650, but the soundstage and imaging is better with my desktop Crack OTL amp. The fullness of all the sounds, the authority of the synth notes, the bass, etc is just better with an amp.

Some will find their appearance dated and reminiscent of the nineties because of the blue « marble effect » covering the plastic, but I actually find them pretty. To be honest, aesthetics is generally not a priority for me as far as headphones are concerned. However, some people like owning nice-looking gear and I totally understand them.
I rank the HD600 as the summit of comfort among over-ear headphones, with just a few other models such as the DT880 or K501. Simply put, I can wear them without break.
They have an ability to sound effortless, even while keeping a very balanced tone. I find the HD600 to be very close to neutral, with a coherence from the bass up to the treble.
They have a neutral sound profile, without being too analytical. They are extremely comfortable, easy to repair and maintain, and not so hard to drive. Oct 25, 2002 · After going to CANJAM yesterday and trying out all these headphones I realized that my 8 year old HD600 foam padding is beat up on both cups and the headband foam flat. Please note this headband is for the original version of the HD 600 headphones. It will fit the 2019 HD 600 with the grey finish, but the colours will not match.
