Nov 1, 2023 · The Sound & Feel. The 2024 AIR-X irons feel just as lightweight and easy to swing as the 2022 irons. I probably wouldn’t game them personally, but it does feel easy to put speed into the shot which should really help seniors in particular. Feel at impact is a solid “crack” with a medium-pitched sound.

Distance
Objectively speaking, the AIR-X irons are slightly above average in terms of ball speed — not quite as powerful as something like the LTDx. However, what makes the irons very long for many people, particularly those with low-medium swing speeds, is twofold: one, the light weight enables the generation of more club head speed in the swing, and two, the high launch naturally results in more distance compared to a trajectory that would otherwise be too low. Forgiveness
Similar to distance, the overall forgiveness of the AIR-X is above average, even for a game-improvement iron. What makes the irons particularly forgiving are the increased spin rate, draw bias and offset. The progressive offset is greatest in the long irons, and also, weight is positioned low, wide and in the heel for added mis-hit stability. When it comes down to it, the AIR-X irons provide very good ball speed preservation and tight dispersions of only a few yards in either direction.
Playability/Trajectory
Trajectories with the AIR-X irons tend to be high with a moderate draw bias. Launch is relatively high. I really do prefer this kind of iron because in most cases, stopping power and spin is more important than pure distance. Jul 15, 2022 · Coming in a £599/$700 for a 7-piece set (5-SW) in my opinion, is exceptional value for money. They don’t come in One Length but they are available in graphite (£699) and I think senior golfers, beginners and high handicappers will really enjoy the hitting experience with the Cobra Air-X irons as well as the resulting shots.
