Boulder is a home rule city in and the county seat of Boulder County, Colorado, United States. With a population of 108,250 at the 2020 census, it is the most-populous city in the county and the 12th-most populous city in Colorado.
The Midwest states of Kansas and Nebraska border Colorado to the east and northeast. The plains are sparsely settled with most population along the South Platte and the Arkansas rivers. Rainfall is meager, averaging about 15 inches (380 mm) annually.
