John V. A. Weaver was a poet, novelist, and screenwriter; his works were produced both on stage and in film. After graduating from Hamilton College in 1914, Weaver went to work in the newspaper industry - first with the Chicago Daily News and later with the Brooklyn Daily Eagle - and then later worked for Paramount.
