Frederick Sanger OM CH CBE FRS FAA (/ ˈ s æ ŋ ər /; 13 August 1918 – 19 November 2013) was a British biochemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry twice.
Frederick Sanger (born August 13, 1918, Rendcombe, Gloucestershire, England—died November 19, 2013, Cambridge) was an English biochemist who was twice the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. He was awarded the prize in 1958 for his determination of the structure of the insulin molecule.
Sanger was awarded the Corday-Morgan Medal and Prize of the Chemical Society in 1951. In 1954 he became a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge.
