Alistair Murdoch McCoist, MBE (/ m ə ˈ k ɔɪ s t /; born 24 September 1962) is a Scottish former footballer who has since worked as a manager and TV pundit. McCoist began his playing career with Scottish club St Johnstone, before moving to English side Sunderland in 1981. He returned to his homeland two years later, signing with Rangers.

A brilliant penalty box striker Ally McCoist was twice winner of the European Golden Boot and is Rangers’ all time top goal scorer with 355 goals from 581 games. With Rangers McCoist won eight League Championship titles, nine Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup.
‘Super Ally’ helped the Light Blues to ten League Championships, one Scottish Cup and nine League Cups. His exploits in the box saw him crowned Scottish PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 1992 and he became the first player to win the European Golden Boot back to back, in 1992 and 1993.
