John Bromfield, the jut-jawed actor best known as a contemporary Western lawman in the 1950s television series “The Sheriff of Cochise” and “U.S. Marshal,” died Sunday. He was 83.
With the final episode of U.S. Marshal in the can, John Bromfield, aged forty-eight (and still lookin' good), decided that he’d had enough of the business and returned to his original love of outdoor life as a fisherman. His second marriage had ended in 1959 and he was free to pursue life as he saw fit.
