Edmund James Cambridge Jr. (September 18, 1920 – August 18, 2001) was an American actor and director who was a founding member of the Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) and the Kilpatrick-Cambridge Theater Arts School.

Edmund Cambridge was an African-American actor, director, stage manager, drama instructor, and producer who achieved success on stage, in film, and in television in a career spanning sixty years. One of the founding members of the Negro Ensemble Company, he directed its first major production, Ceremonies in Dark Old Men , in 1969.
Our story began in the 1940s when a group of Cambridge parents decided to do something about the lack of community care for people with learning disabilities and their families in the area. The organisation began in 1947 and formally Registered as a Charity in 1955.
