James Franklin Baskett [citation needed] (February 16, 1904 – July 9, 1948) was an American actor who portrayed Uncle Remus, singing the song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" in the 1946 Disney feature film Song of the South.
James Baskett was a stage and radio actor who voiced Uncle Remus in Song of the South (1946). He also appeared in several films, including Revenge of the Zombies and Policy Man, and died in 1948.
