Frederick Francis Sears (July 7, 1913 – November 30, 1957) was an American film actor and director. Biography. Sears, formerly based in Boston as a dramatic director and instructor, was hired as a dialogue director by Columbia Pictures in 1946. He began playing incidental roles in Columbia's productions.

Frederick Francis Sears (1913-1957) was an American film actor and director. Though a marginalized figure in 1950s cinema, he created 52 feature films in a number of genres for Columbia Pictures from 1949 to 1957, before his premature death at the age of 44.
Actor in 54 films and director of 51 films including Mission Over Korea, The Miami Story, Rock Around the Clock, Earth vs. The Flying Saucers, The Giant Claw, and Escape From San Quentin. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
