Plaid (/ p l aɪ d /) are an English electronic music duo composed of Andy Turner and Ed Handley. They were founding members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andy Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid.

Mar 5, 2008 · P-Brane is my favourite Plaid release, if you take them as a whole. I feel it has the best flow as a whole and all the tracks are excellent. I would love to hear more like that, and I really hoped when it came out that Plaid were going to go more in that direction.
Following the cracking Double Figure LP, Plaid return with a sparkling EP that distills the essence of what makes them so good and focusses the result like sun through a magnifying glass. Opening track Coat takes their usual slow-build formula and then bristles out into a fizzing melody before collapsing into chiming chords and loops.
