'Slim Jim' Baxter a player that had the respect of some of the world's greatest players and managers. Sir Alex Ferguson labelled him "arguably the best player to have played in Scottish football".

Mar 20, 2023 · Administrator. Might be of interest to older Rangers fans. Found this at my Uncle’s house today. Photo was taken in East Berlin. Jim Baxter, Eric Caldow, my Uncle Max Murray & Bobby Shearer. Rangers played away to Vorwaerts Berlin on 15th November 1961 in European Cup. They won 2-1.
Feb 11, 2024 · Jim was a very good friend of my dad. So after the match my dad met up with Jim and a few of the other players in a London night club. The first thing my dad says to Baxter is " Jim you were great today " Slim Jim replies in his broad Hill o Beath accent, Great !!! I was positively brilliant.
