   Oct 15, 2024 · Girton College, one of the first two colleges established for women at Cambridge, was installed in buildings in the south by the main road in 1873. (fn. 10) Traces of inclosed fields cultivated in the late Bronze Age and Roman period were found north of the village in 1975, (fn. 11) and a cemetery close to the college in 1880.
