I had the issue in February, April and end of May but using View and Manage More Flight Details allowed me to check in using the app. Clicking Check In Now on the front screen gave the same error you reported.

Jun 20, 2024 · In any event, check in closes one hour before. 45 minutes is conformance for being at SECURITY not check-in. And even then that’s cutting it fine if you are departing from a C gate (which is likely given the flight you missed)
