Nov 26, 2022 · Tropic Thunder (2008) Discussion. This is, in my opinion, the funniest thing that any modern movie has to offer. All of its motifs and characterizations are quite pertinent, and they are even more meaningful now than they were when the film was first produced. Ben Stiller showed great foresight in the making of this picture.
The comedy was genius due to the actors trying to survive in a war-themed setting and the action bits were surprisingly good. Ben Stiller and Jack Black were great but Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise were comedic gold. They may be recognizable but they play their roles perfectly.

ADMIN MOD. Why "Tropic Thunder" is a brilliant movie, in my opinion. Tropic Thunder is up on Netflix again, and it's a movie about movies. It starts out by showing how ridiculous movies were in the 90s, so it kind of dates itself there. Tropic Thunder is almost 10 years old. Movies like the old gritty war movies will never exist again ...
Especially if you are a fan) World's End. The World's End is my favourite of the three. It is great. Despite being a huge horror fan, Hot Fuzz takes the top spot for me. If you are looking for an extremely quotable and memorable funny movie like that i would recommend Macgruber, Hot Rod, Nacho Libre, Semi-Pro.
May 15, 2021 · I went to see Tropic Thunder when it first came out and I distinctly remember a scene near the beginning where there's a big party going on at night right before the actors go into the Jungle. I got the DVD soon after it came out and that scene is missing from it. It's not even in the deleted scenes.
Jul 14, 2021 · He gets transferred to a quiet, safe village BECAUSE he takes his job too seriously, and gets partnered with a cop who doesn't take his job seriously. And amazingly, the film can function as a great action movie as well as a parody of one. Definitely second this. I love Tropic Thunder, but I wanted another type of film like this.
