Packaged as a team-up for two of the decade’s action icons, the film stars Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell as rival L.A.P.D. detectives from opposite ends of the city.
Stallone went on to make Rocky V and Cliffhanger that made heaps of cash and Russell went and did Backdraft, Tombstone and Stargate. No one involved wanted anything to do with it until 2019. In 2019 Stallone said he had a script for a sequel and was trying to get Russel to sign on but Russell turned him down.
