Solution is to order multiple diagrams and select the random items that allow for a good seal and metal to metal contact. It is the metal to metal contact that aligns the piston in the throat of the body.

3 days ago · To check the final setting, lift the air valve a very small amount – no more than 1/32 inch and if the engine speed rises appreciably, the mixture is too rich, if it stops the mixture is too weak. If the setting is right, the engine speed will either remain unaltered or may drop very slightly.

Jun 13, 2024 · Needle valves are often the first part to wear out on a Stromberg. If your carbs are of unknown mileage, definitely replace them. The brief run-on dieseling sounds like an early sign of wear.
