May 12, 2024 · This is a lightweight open source replacement for SAM's basic functionality: Jetway animation and VDGS and Marshaller guidance + custom animations. It is meant to be a drop in replacement for SAM, i.e. at startup it scans for SAM enabled sceneries and uses the original configuration files. Excerpt from 00_README.txt:

If you have Traffic Global as well then ensure you disable the SAM integration setting as it sometimes causes X plane to crash. 1.
Sep 8, 2022 · If you truly believe it is SAM causing the problem and have data to prove this then open a problem with Stairport. Posting your before and after scenery_packs.ini and a screen shot of your SAM settings screen may provide some valuable clues or at least allow a comparison with other experiencing the problem. Jun 13, 2020 · Just a sort of related query. I had the "old" SAM Library in my Custom Scenery. Recently I installed the SAM2Suite and installed the free items. I now have the old SAM Library in my Custom Scenery AND a new SAM Library in my Resources\Plugins\SAM\lib folder. Can I / should I now delete the old folder from Custom Scenery? Thankyou Dan
Mar 22, 2023 · SAM is a heavy machinery and I have decided to stay away from it years ago. This is a borderline plugin I would say, in terms of conflicting with the simulator. I prefer to code my own ground service, and while SAM authors stated (if I recall well) it was not possible to get animated passengers, I decided to showcase it was possible to have animated and moving passengers.

SAM is causing the issue because it's expecting to see a folder (global airports) that's no longer present in the custom scenery folder - it needs to be updated for v12 by the developer. The sim isn't the issue here just because Laminar changed something.
May 25, 2024 · I have removed SAM entirely, as XP12 numbers increased, SAM stability decreased. It got to the point where only around 1 in 4 flights would get off the ground without a crash. Removing SAM cured this entirely. OpenSAM is great for jetways. There is not much alternative for ground service, not that SAM was great anyway.
Jan 30, 2023 · Hi, i purchased SAM ground handling yesterday of the XPlane store. i can access the SAM tab and plan a flight, but when it gets too the 'preflight' slide it says on the right side that 'the selected aircraft doesn't have a valid ground service configuration'. I am using the Flight factor A350.
Apr 1, 2024 · With SAM being broken and abandoned I created a conversion tool to get rid of SAM for good. Some examples of the automatic conversion process: SFD EDDM Aeorosoft EDDF (screenshot taken with a previous revision) Captain 7 EDDN (screenshot taken with a previous revision) The process converts all jetways and removes VDGS and Marshallers.
