It appears when trying to withdraw money/close account with the Principality Building Society, there are two things to beware of: If you wish to close the account online, Principality will not act on a request for electronic transfer for 4 days.

It is not possible to log on to the "Your Account" section of their website because of "Website Maintenance". I assume this cannot be planned as we are only a couple of days into the new tax year.

Good to know that withdrawals can be requested over the weekend on a Saturday and even a Sunday and will be in your nominated account that same day as along as they are requested before 3.30pm. Must be one of the very few building societies that offer this service.

Nov 8, 2006 · The 6.0% was comparable with other Building Society offerings but most MSE discussion was centred on the Barclays and A&L offerings which were and still are much higher. FWIW I got £166.75 interest on Reg Sav Bond 1 in April this year paying in the maximum £500 per month and have 3 more running at the 6.0% rate as part of my 'savings fountain' before Principality limited the number of Bonds ...
Sep 26, 2024 · Pricipality pay. 5.5% on a 1-year fixed bond and 4.35% on a 5-access account opened in Branch. Another one to consider is Leek Building Society. They are quite small with only a few branches. Rates are slighly lower than some of the others.
