Webb opens NORTHWEST TERRITORY on escort duty, bringing young orphan Billy (Pat Mitchell) “up from Calgary” to live with his grandfather Pop Kellogg (Sam Flint), who claims to have struck oil on a secret claim. Webb and Billy arrive just in time to find Pop’s cabin in flames, the fire set by dastards looking for the map to the oil claim.
Canadian Northwest Mounted Policeman Rod Webb is traveling by canoe with Kellogg's recently orphaned grandson Billy, when they hear a shot and rush to the cabin. Rod pulls Kellogg from the flames but the old man dies in Rod's arms before he can reveal the secret claim to his grandson.
