Jun 11, 2024 · La bete (The Beast) Rave reviews, but two thumbs down for me. Another of those films that seems ridiculously pleased with itself. Plenty of call-outs to other, better, films (The Lobster, Blue Velvet, Inland Empire/Mulholland Drive). Thought the two leads were very good, and to my English ears, George's French accent sounded pretty good.
