Nov 15, 2018 · The English 'City 2' stations will be renamed 'Greatest Hits Radio'; oddly, the Scottish 'City 2' names will be retained. Free Radio 80s will become Greatest Hits Radio, and on 105.2 FM in West Midlands. Simon Ross will do breakfast in England, Ewan Cameron will do breakfast in Scotland. Good riddence, the ‘2’ names were silly.

Oct 31, 2024 · Now, in terms of losing Wave, some of the fans of Steve Power, Selina Ross, Andy Jackson, Gary Parker and Tony Shepherd can migrate to Nation Radio South. Assuming Rick and Mark eventually make the switch, Nation South could end up replicating the entire Wave 105 presenter line-up.
Oct 30, 2024 · It's getting 8% reach or 130,000 listeners, just behind Hits South Wales on 9% and 160k in the same TSA while having the added advantage of FM in Swansea. Nation Radio is also around 9% and 160k while being on FM across south Wales, so GHR is looking good on that comparison too.
Feb 25, 2024 · 27/02/24 - 16:13 #11760. Someone's already posted this on the Wave 105 Wikipedia page -. On the 27th of February 2024 it was announced that Wave 105 was to be rebranded and be replaced by Greatest Hits Radio South Coast, bringing it in line with Bauer Media's other stations.
Oct 28, 2024 · “Following this date, Greatest Hits Radio Breakfast will broadcast nationally from Bauer’s North West hub” So yes unless they get someone to present it from Manchester which is unlikely Seems it will be GHR breakfast and late nights from Manchester next year, with Mellow Magic at the weekends and Planet Rock Tuesday to Friday nights too
Dec 22, 2023 · I listen to GHR to enjoy Greatest Hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s not songs from the 2010s by Michael Bubble, always retune when he comes on (usually on Radio 2) was hoping GHR would be a Bubble free zone boy apparently not as Ken played him 2nd track after Popmaster.

Imagine if the regulator actually considered the listener in their decisions, rather than inflicting extremely poor networked radio on listeners. The music might be good on greatest hits radio, but the content is shockingly lacking.

I thought they may move Andy Crane back to afternoons or Richard but Kate’s Saturday show is decent. She has a wicked sense of humour if you listen on Saturdays so hope she’s allowed to do that. GHR needs to up its game.
