Per Wikipedia, she reduced her work schedule one she had married and had three sons. She did TV and some theater but no movies. Once her boys had grown she did a lot of regional theater.

When Esther came out with the story, Jane insisted that it was untrue. She said Esther had come to her with woes of her romance with Jeff in the 1950s but never mentioned the cross-dressing until she had to sell some books decades later.
