   So after being a long time fan I just finished the Silmarilion and noticed a lot of differences between what I thought I knew and what actually was. For example I’ve heard hundreds of times the Elrond to Isildur line “cast it into the fire” was a completely made up scene for the movie. But it happens in the Silmarilion as well.
