  1. Nov 6, 2023 · British Gas have moved me to their new accounting system. On the latest bill I have a new account number & there is no detail for how to pay by faster payment. Looked at my bank for a new payee and my new 9 digit reference doesn't fit with the verified British Gas payees. It looks as though I have to phone up and pay by debit card which is daft.

British Gas don't actually have a Bereavement Team - despite the special phone numbers that they promote, your call is added to their main accounts query lines so don't expect the ultra sensitive well trained individuals that other firms provide (take a bow Aviva, Nat West, LV).

  6. Aug 18, 2023 · The bill was for £103.37. My balance now is only £403.52 in credit. £237.78 would actually be a more typical quarterly bill for me, even with the price increases. This is not what i was billed however, but what they have taken. There is a bill that was generated on the 5th August for £512.80, but it simply states bill not ready.

Jul 31, 2024 · The complaint is to address the fact that: 1) The money was taken at all, without authority to do so. 2) We contacted British Gas immediately and were told a refund would be processed. No refund was processed until 3 telephone calls later from us, when someone then logged and processed a refund.

  9. Jul 9, 2024 · We moved last summer and advised the existing supplier in new place, British Gas, that we had moved in. They set up accounts and we gave initial readings. All fine until last month when we tried switching to a fixed rate with another supplier and got our final bill from British Gas which has two exit fees of 100 pounds for each energy account.
