Yes, he probably is. And as I clearly stated, this is more about my own screenwriting frustrations than it really is about Duffield's writing.

He said Legendary has a mythology department that makes sure every MV project stays consistent with every other project. The Skullcrawler’s aren’t the main threat.
Jun 25, 2023 · Writer Brian Duffield of Skull Island actually managed to turn a trope i typically dont like in the giant monster genre into a useful moment of charcater development for Kong Personally I don't like it when human characters essentially try to “aim” the good monster at the bad one it just devalues the monsters and makes them more into plot weapon on legs rather then a full character.
