Rebel Rousers was shot in 1967 and released in 1970 to capitalise on the success of Easy Rider and the improved standing of some of the cast. Nicholson (in a supporting role himself) co-stars with Diane Ladd, Bruce Dern, and Harry Dean Stanton among others, and it’s another example of the foresight a number of these American indie filmmakers from the 60s films in terms of casting their movies.
