Apr 4, 2024 · Avoid this one. Pepper can’t nail what makes Ripley so complex, instead playing him in a misguidedly lighthearted manner. There’s no suspense, and the general clunky tone of the film makes Ripley Under Ground come off as a Euro pudding spin on The Thomas Crown Affair. It’s without a doubt the weakest Tom Ripley film.
