  1. A Celebration for Jesus. John 12:1 tells us that Jesus arrived in the small village called Bethany. Bethany was about two miles (3.2 km) east of Jerusalem. This was the home-village of the two sisters, Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus (John 11:1-2). Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:38-46).
