A TV movie biography of Frank Baum, the children's book author and creator of The Wizard of Oz. Behind every story lies another story. John Ritter is great as L. Frank Baum, bringing the right kind of gentleness to the role. The movie opens and closes in black and white, but is in color for most of the running time, just like The Wizard of Oz.
Always magical when you think of something for the first time in ~25 years, google it, and it's just...right there, on Youtube. Anyway, I can't speak to the quality of this as I haven't seen it since I was ~10 (30 years ago) but I remember loving this as a (Wizard of Oz obsessed) kid.
