Buckminster Park, Buckminster. Buckminster Park stands to the north-east of the village. It was never a medieval hunting park but has its origins in a lease of land in 1532 near the former manor house. The house was demolished in 1951. The park is ideal for long walks, especially during the warmer months.
The Visitor Information Centre is located in the iconic Leigh-Pemberton House, inbetween the Castle and the Cathedral. Dating back to 1543, this half-timbered building was originally a wealthy merchant's house, before later becoming an inn. From 1899-1979 it served as a bank, undergoing extensive restoration during that time frame.
