The iconic 13.1 mile course offered participants a scenic route around Ipswich town centre, as well as taking in some of the county’s most iconic sights.
THE STAGE is set for Suffolk’s biggest day of running as the Simplyhealth Great East Run takes place this weekend. Around 4,000 runners will take part in the half marathon, starting and finishing in Ipswich town centre on Sunday morning – with organisers revealing that this year will be the biggest and best yet.

Now Good Running Events will stage the half marathon’s return on Sunday October 16 including the 5k fun run and entries open on Tuesday March 8.
JUST 100 places remain in the Simplyhealth Great East Run as the hugely popular half marathon looks set to sell out for the third year in a row. Entries to the half marathon event, which takes place on Sunday 22 September in Ipswich, have been in huge demand after the entry limit was increased to 4,000 following last year’s successful event.
