Tetro is indulgent and excessive, clearly made as a Francis Ford Coppola passion project more than a movie to be watched by the masses. The misty, moody black-and-white cinematography is gorgeous and atmospheric. On a narrative level however Tetro rings very fake and forced. It is a story of family ties, but also hard to follow or care about.
