Aug 12, 2021 · On April 13, 1869, a committee was created to report on the advisability of a high school. The Columbus High School was opened on a firm, enduring basis in the fall of 1891, as a permanent part of the public school system. Its first class graduated in June 1892, and since then there has been no break in the continuity of this institution.
