POM Wonderful – History. Queen Kubaba: the Original POM Queen. Often depicted holding a pomegranate, Queen Kubaba wasn’t born into royalty. She started as a tavern keeper in ancient Mesopotamia, and worked her way up. Legend tells that she ruled for 100 years. It’s impossible to say whether the pomegranate contributed to her rise or longevity.
Resnick oversees worldwide marketing and product development for The Wonderful Company. She earned her nickname, “the POM Queen,” after making pomegranates and POM Wonderful—the antioxidant-rich pomegranate juice—a national sensation.
