Specifically, Moonwatcher doesn't want to believe Darkstalker is evil, and she steals the scroll and returns to the academy on her own. Except, she sits down and starts reading the scroll which contains indisputable evidence that Darkstalker is, you know, pretty evil.
Moon Rising is in my top 3 favorites in the series, but book 10 Moonwatcher is an entirely different character. And starting from Winter Turning she isn't treated like a dragon, but as a trophy. The 2nd arc started strong but ended up being by far the weakest.
I would love to see more done with her character, especially now with her mind reading powers holding a high value to stop the othermind. I still really liked her in Winter Rising, since she got a LOT of moments with Winter, which further developed her character.
